The hide of these creatures varies in color from a yellowish tan underside to a rust-red upper back. A rust monster's prehensile antennae can rust metals on contact.

The typical rust monster measures 5 feet long and 3 feet high, weighing 200 pounds.


A rust monster can scent a metal object from up to 90 feet away. When it detects one, it dashes toward the source and attempts to strike it with its antennae. The creature is relentless, chasing characters over long distances if they still possess intact metal objects but usually ceasing its attacks to devour a freshly rusted meal.

The creature targets the largest metal object available, striking first at armor, then at shields and smaller items. It prefers ferrous metals (steel or iron) over precious metals (such as gold or silver) but will devour the latter if given the opportunity.

Rust (Ex): A rust monster that makes a successful touch attack with its antennae causes the target metal to corrode, falling to pieces and becoming useless immediately. The touch can destroy up to a 10-foot cube of metal instantly. Magic armor and weapons, and other magic items made of metal, must succeed on a DC 17 Reflex save or be dissolved. The save DC is Constitution-based and includes a +4 racial bonus.

A metal weapon that deals damage to a rust monster corrodes immediately. Wooden, stone, and other nonmetallic weapons are unaffected.

My name is Edgar. I was named after a great wizard, A wizard king of old, the details of his ascension to king is unknown to me at the current time.
As I scribble down these notes into my journal, I keep a small parchment to the side to calculate correctly that I am approximately 16 in the years of man and 5.3 in accordance to my Half-Elf lineage.
This being said, I am known as a wizard, albeit a new wizard. I gave myself the title after I had shortly turned 16, I had loved magic since I was young and always loved hearing stories of old about powerful court wizards; so I greatly aspire to become a powerful wizard. Either it be a court wizard or a wizard king.
As it is known to me, I currently stand at 5'11 tall. I describe myself as average, Pale complexion, blonde hair with deep blue eyes. As I write this sitting at my table I cannot help but get looks from the other patrons of this establishment for my dark themed clothing; the only color that can be seen is the lightest touch of green on my clothes and the edges of my eyes.
Now, if I were to say I follow anyone in particular, I would have to say someone who uses magic or a great wise warrior. As I have written before, I adore magic. Magic will help me achieve my dream of becoming a truly powerful wizard king or court wizard.
Making my dreams come true will be difficult;but I have a plan: to join a adventure party as a spell caster. Weaving spells to help my allies and shredding my enemies with flames. By doing this, I truly believe in friendship. A good relationship with others goes a long way; it can be with other races, or beasts as well. Having relationships can improve political relations and in such I am always inclined to believe in this.
As I use my party of like-minded adventurers, we will gain fame and prestige. Using this I will covet land and once I have land I will aim for king, with me believing in what I do it will undoubtedly be difficult. I wish to unite the Eleves and Humans under one kingdom. Growing up a bastard son of a affair made me want to unite my mothers human side and my unknown biological fathers elf side. Although I still loved my mother with all my heart. She raised me and I am eternally indebted to her for filling the void my father left while being off in wars.
As it stands now, I fully intend on becoming king and bringing together Elf's and Humans under one crown and flag. Hopefully one day I will bring together all the other races after I achieve my first vast dream.
